My approach to sustainable futures has changed considerably since I last posted, I originally wanted to focus on cyberpunk art and make posters from that or something but i have ended up looking at how virtual reality affects the brain. i started off doing quik sketches of neurons and then on illustrator i did a few aswell:
Then after exploring shape and other qualities about neurons that I could draw I looked at how the brain knows if something is real or not. things like confabulation which is when peple create things in their minds and believe it so much it gennuinely becomes reality to them. This was interesting becasue i’m focusing on virtual raelity and when i researched into how vr tricks our brains i found out that it is becasue its a mix of all our senses which means unless the eye is looking for something out of the ordinary our brains can be fully tricked into thinking they are in whatever place they are seeing through the vr headset.

This has implications for other areas like the classroom because research shows that children respond to vr way more then adults, due to the fact their less questioning of whats real and whats imaginary. Lenovo are trying to create a virtua reality classrom called “mirage solo vr” which has the aim of helping kids concentrate and make learning more interactive and fun – research shows that we rememner 80% of what we experince compared to only 10% of what we read.
