why art foundation

Before starting this course, I planned to continue doing running jobs on film sets and photoshoots like I had been doing before and then eventualy work my way up through the ranks to become a director of photography. Before that I was applying for a degree in Psychology which I then changed last minute to Marine Biology and then decided uni wasnt for me which was when I decided to continue working.

Then my art teacher convinced me to do an art foundation year as its free and Ill get the uni experience, so I did and since I have decided I want to study graphic design! My mind is always all over the place however graphics just seems right for me and I’m really excited to start it next year. Since deciding I want to do graphics, my work has gone from being very experimental in terms of use of mediums to becoming very digitised and it’s helping me take my work further.

For example, I always start my projects with trying out many different things which I still do however, digitising my drawings/designs is helping me refine my ideas and take things like photography which i love, and turning it into something more interesting and creative which is really fun 🙂 overall, it’s just helped me develop my style as an artist and seek ways to defy the boundaries of what graphics actually is which i find really exciting!
