Summary: Installing was much harder longer then I thought it would be :))))
PROBLEM 1 – SCREEN PLACEMENT
I decided for the show that I was going to get three screens and play the three glitches I made on loop. Loads of people wanted screens this year so there was limited supply, i wanted three of the same, which was only possible if i got three A5 photo frames which initially I thought would be too small. I then started off my trying different positionings using bits of paper that were easy to move around:
I decided that the first image where the screens would be stacked worked the best as it 1. made it look like an actual piece, rather then looking like 3 random screens that were just there to show my gifs, and 2. it brought the three glitches together and again made it one piece rather then three seperate pieces
PROBLEM 2 – GETTING THE GIFS UPLOADED
For these screens, you have to plug a memory stick into them to upload the gif so first problem was finding three memory sticks, the second was putting my gifs which were in a photoshop tab into a video format and uploading them onto the memory stick
Once plugged in, I found that my five second glitches were too short and so instead of playing on a constant after the other constantly, it would play once then go black then play. However, once i looked at all three going at once i decided it created a weird dynamic between the three glitches which actually worked and added to my piece – it stopped it being potentially overhwhelming to look at and makes each gif stronger.
PROBLEM 3 – MEMORY STICKS SHOWING
When the screens were up it occurred to me that the bright green neon Brookes memory sticks were peeking out from behind the screens which wasnt a great look, however once the lights were off they glowed red and flickered which i thought added to the overall look of my piece.
PROBLEM 4 – CORDS NOT BEING LONG ENOUGH

The cords for the screens weren’t long enough to get to the plug socket so after trying loads of long and hard ways to overcome this with various lengths of extension cords – which included fixing a box twice the size of my piece to the wall underneth to conceal the extension lead, or threading the cords upwards to fit to the extenson cable that i had to put down behind the wall and back out – i ended up fixing the actual extension lead to the wall and added it to the actual piece to make it look more ‘techy’
